not your grandma's mlm.

once upon a time, there lived the neighborhood avon lady. now, i'm totally not knocking any avon reps at all, as this is just a story to demonstrate my point from personal experience.

anyway, back to the avon lady. she didn't visit my house. she visited my grandma's house. that's right. weezie had her avon lady that would stop by her house religiously. it was always a certain day and time. weezie knew ... and she was prepared.

she would either have her order circled throughout her catalog, ready to go ... OR she would be finding ways to avoid being home when the avon lady stopped. even at times, resorting to hiding in the back bedroom until the avon lady stuck her new catalog in the door + left. there was no middle ground. she didn't want to just sit + chat and maybe find something to order. no. she either knew she needed to put in an order and wanted to get it done OR she wanted to hide. she didn't want to be talked into ordering what she didn't need. she didn't want to invite her in, take up here time + then feel like she HAD to order.

i was a little kid at the time. i would sneak under the table and eavesdrop on their conversations. i would hope my grandma would be getting me a cute new hand cream or maybe some skin-so-soft. i didn't realize it at the time, but it was my first introduction to network marketing. and to hell if i ever thought i would be in the same industry as my grandma's avon lady.

weezie, my brother + me ... sitting at the very table avon business was conducted at.

but, here i am. decades later ... in the top percent of my company which uses the network marketing model to operate. a lot has changed in this industry. A LOT.

however, one thing that still has a foothold in the past is the misconceptions around network marketing. sure, there are still some of the old schoolers out there kickin' it like they did 35 years ago. but for the vast majority of the industry, things are much, much different.

gone are the days when people are cold calling or pushing you into sales. to be honest, it's not even really about the product anymore. it's more about the person doing the selling. if you don't believe me, look at your own spending habits. do you buy from someone that you like? someone that you connect with and have things in common with? or do you buy from that stranger that you barely know (but are friends on the book of face because your kids are in the same class)? do you buy from the lady that has gone through similar experiences as you? that you feel as though you could be instant BFFs with? or do you buy from the woman who is constantly complaining about everything? see where i'm going with this? with all that being said ... now is the best time to use this industry for what it really is.

the vehicle to diversify your income. which, last time i looked, is the smartest thing a human being can freaking do ... because, hello current-soul-crushing-economy! we need to be smart with our money so we're not feeling a massive crunch when the going gets tough. so ... here's the secret. are you ready to hear it? take the money you make from your social selling (network marketing) business + use it to create cash flow opportunities (think vacation rentals for example). read that again. i'll wait. once you make money from that, you can continue to make your money work for you by investing it in the market or additional business opportunities. this is where you create true passive income. now ... hear me out. jumping in with network marketing is the lowest point of entry into business you will find. no joke. the fact you can start a young living business for ONE DOLLAR is mind blowing. you start earning commissions which well, are your start up funds for your next revenue stream. rinse + repeat. over and over. the average millionaire has seven streams of income. don't you think it's time you start creating yours? my money making money. now that's the real american dream right there.

let's use social selling for what it really is ... the foundation of your empire. one that will attract customers to you instead of having them hide in bedrooms from you. HOW DOES ONE DO THIS?

let me help. please. please, let me help. here's what i do. which i obviously highly recommend. i am using my commissions with young living to start diversifying my income. i make up to 50% commissions on customers with additional bonuses + levels of pay. i work to ensure brand partners get off to a great start in effectively growing their business. i have private business + education groups and work one on one coaching entrepreneurs to build a lasting foundation in the social selling industry.

let me help you get started on your first (or maybe your third or seventh) business.

you can become a brand partner with young living by simply purchasing your business essentials kit here. let me show you the way, friend. let's make weezie proud.

My mom was in the President club with Avon unfortunately it was before it was mlm. So she never made residual income. Network marketing is the best way to start.

i never knew they weren't orginally an MLM! that's interesting. such a bummer for her ... that would have been an incredible legacy! but yes ... network marketing is such a low entry start to residual income opportunities.
